One-Time Gift

Annual Fund

We rely on the support of individuals. Our ticket sales only cover a portion of what it costs to produce our plays, bring Broadway tours to Denver, educate 58,000 Colorado students every year and inspire the Rocky Mountain region with theatre experiences of all kinds. To show you how much your support means, here's a sample of what it takes for the shows and programs to go on every year:

  • $20,000 for study guides for all audience and community members, enriching their knowledge of a particular play’s history and production.
  • $450,000 for our renowned Colorado New Play Summit, producing works by the best and brightest playwrights.
  • $830,000 to bring 17,000 students to the theatre, many of them for the first time.

Finding Tomorrowland

Introducing Fund for Innovation

The Fund for Innovation is a reserve fund for the kind of forward-thinking research, experimentation and learning the Denver Center for the Performing Arts needs to meet the future. The fund empowers us to break boundaries and take chances on everything from programming to technology and training – all in an effort to re-define theatre in our lifetime.

Established in 2015, with lead gifts from Dan Ritchie, Scott Shiller and the Wallace Foundation, the Fund for Innovation enables us to overcome the fast-paced changes that are affecting our audiences and artists. By helping us program and produce in response to the many diverse communities we serve, the Innovation Fund will help ensure that DCPA remains relevant and vital as we create the most engaging theatre in the nation. The fund can help in three ways:

Creating more innovative programming

The fund enhances and supports the DCPA’s vision of pushing the boundaries of the theatrical form and advancing American Theatre. From piloting programming designed for Millennials to creating a Theatre Truck that takes theatre out of the complex and into our community to supporting the next generation’s love of theatre through DPS Shakespeare Festival, the fund will support one-time and recurring new forms of theatre.

Upgrading technology to enhance experiences

As technology continues to transform our lives, it is vital that we embrace technological innovation that can improve our day-to-day operations, audience experiences and artist enablement. Technology can enhance almost every part of the customer experience, including state-of-the-art website functionalities, modern and scalable ticketing services, enhanced communication platforms, personalized social media strategies, and pioneering theatrical stage techniques.

Training and maintaining a world-class staff

It takes a world-class staff to support the largest non-profit theater company in America. We need a staff that can comfortably and confidently navigate both the artistry and business acumen required to create unforgettable shared experiences every day. Professional workshops, national conferences, speaking engagements and state-of-the-art staff training will help support our evolution as a first-class organization supported by a team of the most advanced and accomplished professionals in the field.

Monthly Donations
A little bit or a lot, given each month, helps us plan our future more effectively. And like one-time gifts, monthly donations are tax deductible.

Quarterly Donations
Your gift, spread out in four annual payments, helps us raise the bar on our productions and theatre education programs. These gifts are tax deductible and may be adjusted at any time.
Company Matching Gifts
Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any contributions made by their employees to the not-for-profit organization of their choice. To find out if your company has a matching gift policy:

If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer, and send it completed and signed to DCPA, Office of Development, 1101 13th St., Denver, CO 80204. We will do the rest. The impact of your donation to DCPA could be doubled or possibly tripled. Some companies also match gifts made by retirees or spouses of employees.
Name a Seat
Support the New Play Fund by "purchasing" a seat in The Ricketson Theatre. You can name a seat for yourself, in honor or in memory of a loved one or to mark a special occasion. Our New Play Fund ensures our ability to attract the best playwrights and the best stories. Your generous $1,000 donation names a seat (fully tax deductible; monthly payments are available). All donations (up to a total of $100,000) are matched dollar for dollar through the generosity of two DCPA trustees. Contact us at 303.572.4593 to learn more about our donation levels or to make a gift.
Donate Your Tickets
If you can't attend or exchange your ticket to any Theatre Company or Broadway show, you can donate your tickets back to us up to one hour before showtime for a full tax deduction.

“We have enjoyed the DCPA since we moved to the Denver area more than 20 years ago. We find the performances inspiring, enlightening and thoroughly entertaining. What we have received from the performances in our 10-plus years as subscribers is priceless, and it is our pleasure to give back as we realize the theatre cannot survive on ticket sales alone." — Mike & Elisa Ferrari
