Brian O’Neil is the founder of Acting As a Business, a one-on-one career consultation service for actors. He is the author of Acting As a Business: Strategies for Success, which is now in its 16th printing and was recently cited by Entertainment Weekly as a “show-biz industry bible”, one of only ten books ever written to receive that accolade, and one of only two books written specifically for actors to do so. He is also the author of the book Actors Take Action: A Career Guide for the Competitive Actor and he created the column “Actors Cues and A’s” for Back Stage. Brian is a former talent agent and personal manager who has represented actors for theater, film, and television. As a talent representative, he was responsible for the career guidance and professional placement of hundreds of young actors including some of today’s biggest stars. Brian lives in New York City and lectures for the MFA students at Yale, Harvard, the Globes Theatre, the National Theatre Conservatory at the Denver Center, the University of California, San Diego and Brown University/Trinity Rep Conservatory, among others. Mr. O’Neil holds a Bachelors Degree from Rhode Island College in Providence, RI.
